Behind the Divine Daughters Logo

Our February focus group brought us a question that we would love to answer: What is the meaning behind our logo? We began working on this line in fall 2010 and our beginning steps were to refine our mission and vision. We talked through words and expressions that we felt embodied the type of support our herbal line would offer… ancestral, spiritual, sisterhood and wisedom resonated deeply with us. From there we sorted through images from magazines that visualized these concepts and two owls appeared. The symbol of an owl felt like our spirit guide for this process and we wanted to share it with the mamas who reach out for our line. For us it evokes a sense of silent nocturnal guidance signaling the instinctive inner wisedom that mothers draw from to carry, birth and raise their babies.

The border that outlines our logo evolved from considering the four elements, water, earth, air and fire. The lines that our sketched around the perimeter are an impression of this. For us it embodies ancestral wisedom that is within and around us as we embark upon this tremendous journey into motherhood, teaching us how to nurture our children as we nurture ourselves.

Then Karen came forward with the name ‘Divine Daughters’, it felt like the perfect match. It called to us because even as we grow into motherhood it is easy to loose sight of the fact that we need to be nurtured and mothered ourselves. Yes, we are still daughters. The physical and spiritual support that herbs offer is divine and that is what we want to bring to our community through these inspired products.
